Chaenggim Privacy Policy
Atelier Matiere Inc. operates Chaenggim and processes personal information as described below. This is an English translation of the Korean policy effective October 18, 2026.
1. Information processed
- Account information: email address and display name.
- Health information you enter, which may be sensitive: medical document photos, visit records, checkup measurements, voice and text notes, appointments, medication, meal and nutrition records, and selected conditions.
- Activity information: steps, when you grant the required device permission.
- Optional feature information: approximate location or a city/coordinates you select when requesting weather and air quality, and hospital names when requesting hospital search.
- Family sharing information: accounts connected through invitation codes.
2. Purposes
Information is used to store documents and health records, share records with connected family members, prepare for appointments, record meals, medication and steps, retrieve weather, air quality and hospital location results, and retrieve public research relating to conditions you select. Health records are not used for advertising, sale, or behavioral tracking.
3. Consent for sensitive information
Health information is stored on the sharing server after separate consent. If you do not consent to cloud sharing, records remain on your device. Optional meal photo analysis involves separate external processing as described in section 7.
4. Storage and retention
- Cloud storage: Supabase servers in the Seoul region, South Korea. If you use the app outside South Korea, cloud sharing transfers your records to South Korea.
- Server records are deleted when you delete your account. Records created by that account and the associated family sharing are removed together.
5. Who can access records
- You and the family members you connect through sharing codes can access shared records.
- The company does not review record contents except in response to legally required requests.

Personalized ads are not used, and health records, documents and medical information are never passed to advertising. |
7. On-device processing and external information
- Document text recognition uses iOS Vision or Android ML Kit on your device. Document photos are not uploaded for OCR.
- Steps are read only after you permit access to iOS Motion & Fitness or Android activity sensors.
- If you choose current location for weather, coordinates are rounded to roughly one decimal place before being sent to Open-Meteo. Korean city selection uses the selected city's representative coordinates. Location is not used for advertising tracking.
- When you separately consent to and run meal photo analysis, the photo is sent over an encrypted connection through the company's Supabase function to Google Gemini. Results are estimates and can be edited.
- When condition research is enabled, only the condition names and search terms you set are sent to Europe PMC and ClinicalTrials.gov. Your name, document photos and medical records are not sent to these research services.
- Hospital searches send the hospital name you enter to OpenStreetMap Nominatim. Korean translation of public research may send part of a public title or abstract to MyMemory.
8. Your controls
In Settings, you can delete records, disconnect family sharing, or delete your account and server records. Account deletion does not remove the separate local copy on your device; use the app's record deletion controls for that copy.
9. Security
Safeguards include encryption in transit, record-level access restrictions for family sharing, and private storage for photos and recordings.
